Customer Service Rep
Porter – Lankenau Medical Center, Towne Park
Position Overview:
The Porter is responsible for basic general cleaning of the common garage area and providing exceptional hospitality services to all guests. They also support facility equipment upkeep, handle guest issues, and maintain safety and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA.
- Compensation: $15.90 per hour (actual pay based on experience, education, and location).
- Work Schedule: Open availability.
- Benefits: Eligible for accident, critical illness, hospital indemnity, telemedicine insurance, and company 401k plan. Eligibility depends on job classification, length of employment, and hours worked. Seasonal and temporary roles are not eligible.
The Porter maintains cleanliness and safety in the garage, assists guests with directions and services, and protects confidential information.
Essential Functions (Percentage of Time)- Cleanliness check of all guest entrances and elevator landings in the garage – 20%
- Use mop or power washer to eliminate stains and wipe signage – 20%
- General cleaning of garage using mobile garbage can, broom, dustpan – 15%
- Wipe signage and equipment at entrances and exits – 15%
- Empty guest key receptacles, power wash entrance areas – 10%
- Assist guests with directions and inquiries – 10%
- Maintain guest confidentiality and security of information – 10%
- Education: High school diploma or GED.
- License/Certification: Minimum age 18, passing criminal background check and drug screen.
- Experience: One to three months related experience or training; customer service experience preferred.
- Knowledge: Basic general cleaning.
- Skills:
- Proficient in reading, writing, and understanding Standard English.
- Ability to follow simple instructions and write simple correspondence.
- Effective communication in one‑on‑one and small team settings.
- Understanding of 24‑hour and military time, and rate calculations.
- Customer service experience preferred.
- Job is routine; follows established practices. Decisions within operational instructions and departmental guidelines.
- Controlling available resources only.
Work is primarily outdoors for extended periods. Employees may face extreme heat and cold. Physical demands include standing, walking, climbing stairs, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly.
Travel up to 5% may be required.
