Job summary
This vacancy is being advertised by One Wight Health (GP Federation) on behalf of Argyll House GP Surgery.

Hours:
38.5 per week Salary:
Negotiable dependant on experience

We are seeking a
self-motivated individual with excellent attention to detail. The successful
candidate must have exceptional people skills and an interest/background in healthcare experience preferred.
Main duties of the jobTo provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.
Experience using the patient records database, Systm One, is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.
About us Argyll House Surgery has been providing an excellent standard of medical care to thousands of patients in Ryde, Wootton Bridge and the surrounding villages for more than 25 years.
Our clinical team includes a fulltime GP, two part-time GPs, two practice nurses, two healthcare assistants a Clinical Pharmacist and two Physician associates. The administrative team of patient advisors, reception and secretarial staff is led by the Practice Manager and Admin Manager.
We run a full range of general practice services with special clinics for babies, pregnant women and patients with certain conditions. At the surgery we aim to treat all patients promptly, courteously and in complete confidence.
Argyll House Surgery offers a caring, friendly and professional service to all our patients and advises, supports and treats them equally, without discrimination.
CQCThe last CQC inspection in May 2018 rated the practice as Good.

Reception Duties Receiving patients, consulting with members of practice team
Be able to cover all reception positions as necessary
Process appointment requests/future appointments from patients by telephone and in person.
Deal with patient visits/requests
Registrations of new patients - computer data entry and medical records (have knowledge of practice area)
Processing blood test requests and generating these for appointments as per GP request
Telephone
Have working knowledge of telephone/bleep system, during and after hours
Have a polite, friendly, approachable telephone manner
Experience dealing with difficult/agitated patients
Other Tasks Clear rooms after surgeries
Ensure building security
Any other tasks allocated by managers

Experience of reception work. Awareness of Data Protection Act and need for confidentiality of information. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with team members, patients, carers, and other healthcare professionals, with the ability to adjust communication style. Attention to detail, able to work accurately, identifying errors quickly and easily.
Desirable Experience using Systm One (Primary Care IT System).
Experience of working within General Practice.
