Status:
Part-time (15 hours/week). Hourly/Non-exempt

Hourly Rate: $15.50-$17 per hour

Work Schedule:

Weekdays 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM during the school year.

Reports to:

Wildcats Extended Day Program Manager

Job Summary

The Program Associate works directly with K-5 students enrolled in the Wildcat Extended Day Program to provide a safe, nurturing, and well-supervised after school child care program while acting as a positive adult role model and mentor.

Job Duties
  • Setting up and organizing the classroom and outdoor spaces as directed by the Program Manager
  • Preparing materials and gathering supplies for activities
  • Leading and supervising small or large group activities as directed by the Program Manager
  • Supervising children on the playground and during free time activities
  • Assisting children with homework
  • Monitoring student check‑in and check‑out procedures and working with the Program Manager to keep accurate attendance records
  • Working collaboratively with other staff, interns, volunteers and contracted program providers as well as school day staff
  • Cleaning up and storing equipment and cleaning up the classroom and other spaces used by the program
  • Welcoming and interacting with parents
  • Writing incident reports and providing first aid (or obtaining emergency help if needed) when a child is injured
  • Assisting the Program Manager with on‑site activities
Education and/or Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Experience working with youth in a classroom, after school, child care, or recreation environment
  • Must obtain a fingerprint clearance card

  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Patience and ability to juggle the needs of children of diverse ages, backgrounds, and interests
