Project Engineer

Join Capstone Copper Pinto Valley as a Project Engineer. The role supports construction activities on tailings facilities and other mine projects.

The Project Engineer will provide engineering, project management, and documentation for assigned projects, supporting facilities planning, project execution, and document management.

• Develop comprehensive project plans and timelines.
• Manage and monitor engineering tasks, budgets, and expense tracking.
• Provide oversight of engineering efforts, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Maintain and expand the engineering documentation system, including CAD and PDF editing.
• Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations for procurement and stakeholder meetings.
• Implement risk mitigation strategies and support budget development.
• Support additional tasks as assigned.

Project Managers, Construction Manager/Coordinators, Quality Control Contractors, Engineering firms, Operations and support areas.

External:
Construction contractors.

Quality Control Contractor

50% office and 50% field.

Education Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalency.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or Mining Engineering.

Years of Relevant Experience

• 3+ years in mining or heavy civil industry.

Preferred Experience

• Project engineering on large civil projects.
• Quality control functions.
• Document control and submittal review.
• Cost and schedule review, P6 or MS Project.
• Project management experience.

• Knowledge of MSHA safety and quality standards.
• Technical report writing.
• Strong networking and communication skills.
• Organize and conduct meetings.
• Proficiency in advanced planning tools (MS Project).
• Proficiency in MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
• Ability to work with diverse internal and external teams.
• Experience managing schedules and budgets.
