Location: Fort Huachuca, AZ

About the Role

DAWSON is seeking an Environmental Database & GIS Specialist to support database management activities at Fort Huachuca. This position is responsible for tracking work orders, managing environmental compliance databases, and maintaining GIS data layers. The role will ensure environmental data is accurate, accessible, and aligned with regulatory and reporting requirements.

What You’ll Do

Work Order Tracking Database Management

Maintain and update the environmental work order tracking system.

Input, monitor, and track environmental service requests and work progress.

Generate reports and summaries for management review.

Ensure data integrity, consistency, and compliance with reporting requirements.

Support environmental staff with queries, analysis, and report preparation.

GIS Data Management

Update and maintain required GIS layers associated with environmental programs.

Conduct geospatial analysis to support environmental planning and compliance.

Create maps and visualizations to support decision-making and reporting.

Compliance & Reporting

Assist in preparing compliance reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Ensure data systems meet Army and regulatory standards for accuracy and security.

What We’re Looking For

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, GIS, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; OR equivalent experience in database/GIS management.

Experience:

Experience managing environmental or work order databases.

Familiarity with GIS software (ArcGIS or equivalent).

Understanding of environmental compliance programs and data reporting requirements.

Strong database management and data analysis skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite;
Access and Excel expertise preferred.

GIS mapping, editing, and data management capabilities.

Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Additional Requirements

Ability to work on-site at Fort Huachuca and conduct field validation when required.

U.S. Citizenship required; must be able to meet Army installation security requirements.

Strong communication and teamwork skills to support both technical staff and program managers.
