Pinto Valley is an open‑pit copper mine located at the west end of the historic Globe‑Miami mining district of central Arizona, approximately 80 miles east of Phoenix. Pinto Valley has been in operation since 1972 and has produced more than four billion pounds of copper. Acquired by Capstone from BHP in 2013, the mine is fully permitted through 2039 and a study is underway to potentially extend the mine life through 2050.

The Principal Advisor – Civil Projects provides senior technical and project leadership for large‑scale, multi‑year civil infrastructure projects across the operation. Reporting to the Projects Superintendent, this role is accountable for planning, execution, and delivery of complex civil works—including roads, tailings, water, and utilities—while ensuring alignment with Capstone Copper’s Asset Management Framework, HSE standards, and business objectives. The role partners closely with internal stakeholders and external contractors to deliver projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and to defined performance standards.

• Safety, Compliance & Governance:
  Champion Capstone Copper values while ensuring full compliance with MSHA requirements, environmental regulations, site policies, and the Asset Management Framework. Promote a safety‑first culture and ensure all employees and contractors are properly trained and certified.
• Project Leadership & Delivery:
  Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of large‑scale civil projects from pre‑feasibility through construction and closeout. Develop optimized project execution plans aligned with asset life, performance targets, and approved feasibility or engineered designs.
• Technical Oversight & Engineering Judgment:
  Provide senior technical guidance on civil design, materials selection, construction methodologies, and constructability for infrastructure including roads, tailings facilities, utilities, and water systems. Resolve complex technical and execution challenges as they arise.
