San Carlos Apache Healthcare Center is seeking an experienced Inpatient Pharmacist to support hospital and emergency department pharmacy services. The ideal candidate will have strong inpatient or ER pharmacy experience, current medication knowledge, sound clinical judgment, and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals.
Candidates must be flexible with scheduling and willing to work across different shifts and pharmacy locations as operational needs require.
Key Responsibilities:- Review, verify, and process medication orders accurately and in a timely manner.
- Support inpatient and emergency department medication services.
- Ensure medications are dispensed and administered in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and facility policies.
- Handle controlled substances in compliance with federal and state laws and established procedures.
- Review medication orders for appropriate dosing, interactions, contraindications, and potential safety concerns.
- Provide medication counseling and drug information to patients and healthcare professionals as appropriate.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacy technicians, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Maintain current knowledge of medications, clinical guidelines, and safe medication practices.
- Support medication safety, quality assurance, and accurate documentation.
- Adapt to changing departmental needs, including coverage across pharmacy locations and shifts.
- Perform other pharmacy-related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from an accredited school of pharmacy and/or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD).
- Current, active, unrestricted pharmacist license in a U.S. state.
- BLS certification.
- Hospital pharmacy experience is required.
- Inpatient and/or emergency department pharmacy experience is strongly preferred based on the client’s additional notes.
- Ability to work primarily nights and remain flexible for day, swing, and weekend shifts.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Active Arizona pharmacist license.
- At least two years of clinical pharmacy experience.
- Experience supporting inpatient and emergency department medication services.
- ACLS certification.
- PALS certification; the client indicates that PALS may be obtained onsite.
San Carlos Apache Healthcare Center is a Tribal 638 healthcare facility serving the San Carlos Apache community. Its pharmacy team supports medication services across the healthcare system and collaborates with clinical teams to promote safe, effective patient care.
