Sr. Talent Acquisition Lead

* This role is hybrid onsite, 3x/week

This person will own recruiting from the initial hiring-manager intake through candidate close and onboarding. On a typical day, they could be meeting with engineering or operations leaders to understand upcoming workforce needs, sourcing a difficult-to-find Principal or Civil Engineer, reviewing skilled-trades applicants, coaching recruiters on their open requisitions, preparing an offer, reviewing recruiting metrics with Site HR, or talking with an out-of-market candidate about relocating to the rural area.

They will help build and maintain pipelines for the autonomous operation, identifying the engineering, skilled-trades and operational talent necessary to support the evolving site. They will need to understand what hiring managers are actually looking for beyond a job description and translate those needs into targeted sourcing strategies for specialized and hard-to-fill positions.

While this is a leadership-level position, it is still very hands-on. The Lead will oversee and provide direction to approximately 2–3 TA resources, help assign recruiting priorities, mentor and coach the team, review recruiting activity and ensure requisitions continue moving. They will also personally carry and close critical searches.

Because of this rural operation, candidate closing is especially important. The Lead needs to be comfortable discussing the onsite environment, relocation considerations, housing challenges, commuting realities and expectations of working at an operational site early in the recruiting process. The goal is not simply to generate candidates, but to find people who understand the opportunity and can realistically succeed in the environment.

They will also manage the administrative side of the recruiting lifecycle, including ATS activity, applicant screening, candidate tracking, compensation/pay models, offers, background checks, drug testing, pre-employment medical requirements and recruiting reporting. The Lead will serve as a recruiting partner to HR and hiring managers while creating a professional and consistent candidate experience.

• 5+ years of Talent Acquisition/HR-related experience with a Bachelor's degree OR 8+ years with a High School Diploma/GED.
• Strong full-cycle recruiting experience from intake and sourcing through offer, negotiation and pre-employment requirements.
• Experience recruiting for technical, engineering, operations, skilled-trades, industrial or similarly difficult-to-fill positions.
• Previous experience operating in a lead, supervisory or senior recruiting capacity.
• Ability to lead, mentor and provide day-to-day direction to 2–3 recruiting/TA resources.
• Strong sourcing capabilities and ability to proactively build talent pipelines rather than relying solely on applicants.
• Comfortable recruiting across engineering profiles such as Principal, Civil, Structural and related technical disciplines, as well as skilled trades and operational talent.
• Ability to partner directly with Site HR, hiring managers and business/operations leadership.
• Comfortable recruiting for a rural operating environment and having realistic candidate conversations around relocation, housing, commute and onsite expectations.
• Experience working within an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and managing requisitions/candidate workflow.
• Strong Excel skills, including candidate tracking, recruiting data and reporting.
• Experience developing or presenting recruiting metrics and reports to HR and business leadership.
• Experience managing offers and candidate negotiations, including partnering around compensation questions and hiring incentives.
