Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Snowflake Data Modeler/Architect to design, optimize, and implement enterprise data models that support advanced analytics and reporting needs. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in data modeling techniques, Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD Type
2), Change Data Capture (CDC) in Snowflake, and SQL performance tuning. This role also involves hands‑on use of data modeling tools (ERWIN or similar) and the creation of detailed data mapping documents for integration teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models in Snowflake.
• Apply advanced data modeling techniques (e.g., normalization, denormalization, star/snowflake schemas, data vault modeling).
• Implement and optimize SCD Type 2 and Snowflake CDC patterns for historical data tracking and incremental processing.
• Work closely with data engineers, BI developers, and integration teams to define data mapping documents, transformation logic, and business rules.
• Utilize ERWIN (or similar modeling solutions) to document and manage enterprise data models.
• Conduct SQL performance tuning and ensure scalable query execution on large data volumes.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate functional requirements into technical data models.
• Define and enforce data modeling standards, best practices, and governance across projects.
• Support integration teams with clear metadata, lineage, and documentation for ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Provide architectural guidance for data warehouse/lakehouse solutions in Snowflake.

Required Skills

• 1-5 years of experience in data modeling, architecture, and enterprise data warehouse design.
• Hands‑on expertise with Snowflake (warehouses, schema design, CDC, performance tuning).
• Proficiency in SQL (complex queries, optimization, and debugging).
• Strong knowledge of SCD Type 2 implementations and change data capture methodologies.
• Experience with ERWIN or equivalent data modeling tools.
• Proven ability to create data mapping documents and transformation rules for integration teams.
• Deep understanding of data warehouse and dimensional modeling concepts.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ETL/ELT tools (Informatica, dbt, Matillion, Talend, etc.).
• Exposure to cloud integration platforms (Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, GCP Data Fusion).
• Familiarity with data governance, data quality, and master data management (MDM).
• Experience in agile delivery environments.
