Sr. Network Software Engineer (OMT)
Telos Corporation is a leading provider of cyber, cloud and enterprise security solutions. We seek a senior engineer to support our Army Global Network (AGUN) program and help maintain secure network infrastructure for the U.S. Army.
This position is based in Sierra Vista, Arizona (primary) and Fort Huachuca, AZ (secondary).
Primary Responsibilities- Operate and maintain secure network solutions as a centralized enterprise capability for the U.S. Army.
- Support 24/7/365 AGUN operations, including Global Cyber Center (GCC) updates to facilitate command and control.
- Conduct standard policy and configuration changes, including remediation workflows.
- Manage, triage, track, and update service tickets in Jira Service Desk and GCC Service Now.
- Provide situational awareness and status updates on ticket resolution and brief managers as directed by GCC.
- Escalate tickets and problems through Jira to higher tier teams as required.
- Partner with key stakeholders and technical experts to perform legacy environment discovery, assess current capabilities, configurations, and requirements.
- Provide tier III support for the Army global network.
- Collect, investigate, and identify network optimization strategies and techniques to meet capacity and performance standards.
- Active Secret Clearance.
- Minimum bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of experience, or master’s degree with 6+ years of experience (or equivalent).
- Active DoD IAT Level II (Security+) certification or equivalent prior to start.
- Demonstrated experience supporting Cisco SDWAN.
- Knowledge of SDN concepts.
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware.
- Experience with Red Hat.
- Hands‑on experience with Info Vista.
- Experience with at least two of the following vendor network technologies:
Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Dell, or App Gate. - Experience using Service Now.
- Experience with networking concepts and protocols: LAN, WAN, BGP, TCP/UDP, IPSec, VPN, routing (L2/L3), and firewalls.
- Experience with one or more enterprise network management tools:
Palo Alto Panorama, Cisco Prime, Cisco DNA, or Junos. - Experience with SFTP, SSH, SCP, SNMP, NTP.
- Ability to work as part of a team to lead troubleshooting and resolve complex network issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be U.S. citizen.
- CCNP or equivalent.
- Linux shell scripting experience.
- Git Lab source control and CI/CD pipeline development experience.
- Experience with JIRA and Confluence.
- Experience managing trouble tickets and escalations.
- Experience with Net Sec Ops technologies:
Salt, Git, Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, and network element managers. - Network performance management (SNMP, NETMON, Live Action).
- Experience with Netflow, Elastic, Kafka, Grafana, Prometheus, or Nexus Repo (two or more).
- Expertise in the design and improvement of complex, geographically diverse enterprise networks.
- Full‑time position.
- Shift work required – rotating shift.
