Title: Machinist - Mechanical Field Services

Location:

Morenci operations, Morenci, Arizona (approximately 50 miles northeast of Safford, AZ) on U.S. Highway 191. Morenci is an open-pit copper mining complex with multiple processing facilities and on-site housing options as described below.

• Perform routine maintenance activities.
• Develop solutions for various maintenance situations.
• Complete Work Orders and other maintenance documentation.
• Train and mentor maintenance employees.
• Perform other duties as required.

• Four (4) years  experience in the crafts of Machinist, Line Boring, Welding, Boiler Maker.
• Must have completed academic and practical competencies required and have experience demonstrating the required mechanical aptitude. The candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and technical skills while also passing a written assessment where required. This exam is based on technical skills/abilities and/or academic knowledge; as well as safety.
• Proficiency in welding/cutting.
• Ability to operate a 11", 20", 24" and 32" Lathe, Milling Machine, Horizontal Milling Machine, Marvel Band Saw, Drill Press.
• Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English.
• Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, procedures, and safety standards.

• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience working on 4100
  
  XPA, 4100
  
  XPB/C and 4100 XPC/AC Komatsu Electric Shovels
• Experience working on PV271, PV271XC
  Epiroc Diesel Drills
