Nurse Practitioner

Director of Advance Practice - Adult and Family Medicine

Provides and manages a high standard of health care for patients in their area of specialty.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Job duties may be modified at any time based on business needs.

• Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnostic evaluations of labs and imaging or other diagnostic procedures, and treatment for patients within scope of practice.
• Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate.
• Refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate.
• Directs and coordinates the patient care activities of nursing, care coordinators, and support staff.
• Ensures completion of tasks, patient labs, imaging, and reports, as well as required paperwork in a timely and efficient manner.
• Maintains patient records and provides accurate billing data.
• Participates in health promotion, education, and prevention programs as appropriate.
• Participates in peer review and feedback to other medical providers.
• Assists in training and mentorship to improve professional skills of staff.
• Participates in education of clinical students and community partners as per program guidelines.

• Graduate Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program.
• Current Arizona State License as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Board Certification in relevant specialty.
• Current CPR certification.
• Participation in continuing medical education.
• Driver's License and Proof of Insurance (if requesting mileage reimbursement).
• Valid Fingerprint Clearance Card.

• Two years of clinical experience preferred.

• Effective communication in English, both oral and written.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Ability to present information clearly to patients and staff.
• Ability to convey technical information to non-technical personnel.

• Ability to lift objects up to 25 pounds.
• Remain stationary and move about as needed.
• Operate office and medical equipment.
• Good visual and auditory acuity.
• Ability to exert force to lift and move patients.

• Medical math skills, data analysis, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, compliance, medical evaluation principles, and evidence-based primary care.
• Computer literacy and motivational training skills.
• Ability to develop educational programs and prioritize work.

• Typical clinic setting with exposure to communicable diseases and chemicals.
• Occasional use of needles and medical equipment, travel, and extended hours.
• Reliable transportation required.
