Application Tips
Perform routine animal control and law enforcement activities to safeguard citizens from dangerous and nuisance animals and enforce state and county laws for the Animal Control Department within scope of authority and training under basic supervision. This is a working level class in animal control, responsible for enforcing applicable regulations in a civilian capacity.
- Respond to calls for service from the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and capture, contain, and impound animals at‑large, including sick, injured, and vicious animals.
- Patrol assigned area and enforce County and state animal control regulations, including Pinal County Animal Control Ordinance 050510‑ACC and Arizona Revised Statue Title 11, 13 and 36.
- Assist in investigating animal cruelty, neglect, excessive noise, bite allegations, and nuisance complaints, notify owners and involved parties of violations and corrective actions, write reports, and issue citations and warnings.
- Contact individuals to discuss violations and alternatives for resolving compliance issues, conduct follow‑up inspections, and verify compliance.
