Maintenance Engineer III

Grand Canyon Railway & Hotel

This is a full-time, year‑round position working at the Grand Canyon Railway in Williams, AZ.

Responsibilities
  • Fully understand and support Xanterra Mission Statement and Core Values.
  • Complete general maintenance assigned requests, ensuring timely completion, thoroughness, and cost effectiveness.
  • Assist in maintaining water softeners according to preventive maintenance schedules, including salt inventory management.
  • Ensure proper repair and finishing of doors, desks, tables, chairs, and other furniture to maintain safety and comfort for staff and visitors.
  • Repair and replace locks and perform lock servicing to ensure safety of employees and guests.
  • Carry out ground works, including mowing lawns, weeding flower beds, clearing grasses, and removing snow and ice from sidewalks to maintain a clean and healthy environment; handle multiple call‑outs or work orders independently and perform trade call‑outs as necessary.
  • Operate designated heavy equipment safely and efficiently as required.
  • Perform second‑level maintenance and repairs related to the preventive maintenance program.
  • Perform second‑level trade functions such as 220‑volt electrical troubleshooting, plumbing, refrigeration/HVAC, basic boiler operation, and kitchen equipment repair.
  • Perform Lock Out / Tag Out procedures.
  • Perform intermediate carpentry and painting duties as necessary and directed.
  • Report maintenance problems accurately when trade‑specific skill and attention are required.
  • Adhere to all safety, risk management, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment while carrying out assigned tasks.
  • Work various shifts as required.
  • Assist less skilled workers in different phases of building construction and general maintenance, and review their work to ensure it meets quality standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
