Job Description

This position works independently to help provide and maintain church owned Meetinghouses, Recreation Camps, Welfare and Seminary Facilities. Each facility built and maintained should (1) provide a spiritual setting for members to worship, and (2) present an image of reverence and dignity in the community.

Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled and emergency preventive maintenance to ensure warranty compliance and extend life of HVAC equipment, plumbing, electrical, and sound systems.
  • Perform repairs to motors, pumps, small engines, cabinets, mill work, sheetrock, flooring, locks, and hardware.
  • Service, repair, or replace HVAC systems and components, plumbing systems, electrical systems, and sound and electronic systems.
  • Install, maintain, and repair doors, drywall, handrails, masonry, insulation, roofs, and windows.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment, motors, and pumps.
  • Repair or replace locks, hinges, mill work, sheetrock (minor), tile (minor), wall coverings (minor), small paint jobs, motors, engines, and ground care equipment.
  • Install, maintain, and repair interior and exterior finish woodwork such as cabinets, custom furniture, casings, countertops, exhibits, molding, trim, and base.
  • Install, repair, and maintain flooring including carpet, tile, and LVT.
  • Install, repair, and maintain concrete, masonry, and exterior fencing.
  • Handle, maintain, and repair required tools, portable machines, and general construction equipment.
  • Use Corrigo work order tracking software and church time entry software to manage and document daily work.
  • Maintain OSHA standard safety during work, reporting any hazards or accidents to the Operations Manager.
  • Estimate and purchase materials needed for specific jobs or projects.
  • Manage the inventory of supplies and equipment and order new supplies as needed.
  • Reconcile P‑card purchases using church purchasing software.
  • Attend meetings and training sessions assigned by the Operations Manager.
  • Provide relevant data from regulatory work order property inspections.
  • Operate fleet vehicle and ensure all regulatory maintenance is performed.
  • Work and communicate with contractors as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the FM groups.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma.
  • 3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, including safety policies and technical procedure manuals.
  • Maintain adequate knowledge of and always comply with OSHA standards and company safety policies.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills to individuals and small groups.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Proficiency in the use of computers, cellphones, and tablets.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, departmental software, web-based programs, internet services, and wireless communications.
  • Ability to efficiently manage own schedule and prioritize work to accomplish job requirements.
  • Familiarity with and safe use of industrial cleaning chemicals and products.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate fleet vehicle.

Physical Requirements
  • Transfer items weighing 50 lbs. over a distance of 20 feet without mechanical assistance.
  • Use hand tools requiring body forces of 40 lbs. when repairing equipment.
  • Use a ladder 80 rungs per hour in an eight‑hour day to access attic spaces, elevated repair locations, and change light bulbs.
  • Climb 180 stairs per day to access all areas of the meetinghouse and grounds.
  • Access mechanical equipment on rooftops and tolerate heights of 30 feet.
  • Reach 18 inches below ground level, and stoop and rise repeatedly 30 times per day.
  • Access mechanical equipment in areas with limited crawlspace.
  • Remain stationary while driving between locations for 4 hours per day.
  • Remain stationary for 2 hours continuously, and 7 hours overall in an eight‑hour day.
  • Traverse 4.0 miles per day to access all areas of the meetinghouse and grounds.
