Our Miami smelter and rod plant is nestled just 90 miles east of Phoenix. The smelter processes copper concentrate primarily from our company’s Arizona copper mines and is the most significant source of sulfuric acid for our North American leaching operations. Highly skilled electrical and/or instrument technician who applies a broad level of process and electrical knowledge to maximize and, where possible, improve the efficiency of the overall production process. These employees have met the qualifications of the company certification process.

These workers mentor and train other workers.

• Safe completion of routine and non-routine repairs and construction
• Perform preventive maintenance, installation, repair and troubleshooting of industrial electrical and/or instrumentation equipment (i.e. substations, power distribution systems, switch gear motors, motor controls, systems and components, process controls, instrumentation and pneumatic equipment)
• Provide leadership in areas such as safety, environmental, mentoring of new employees and apprentices, cost control, project management, KPI tracking and measurement, and proactive maintenance management processes
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Five (5) years of experience in industrial electrical and/or instrumentation repair and maintenance
• Qualified under the company certification process
• Valid state driver's license
• Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required aptitude. The selected candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and skills while also passing a written assessment where required. This exam is based on skills/abilities and/or academic knowledge; as well as safety.

• High School diploma or GED
• Extensive NEC knowledge
• Experience with VFDs, PLC, HMI, and/or SCADA Control Systems
• Experience working with low and medium voltages
• Experience with AC and/or DC controls
• Experience with instrumentation devices & calibration
• Experience with diagnostic electrical test equipment
• Experience with HVAC equipment
• Conduit Experience with 1/2" to 4"
• Experience Avtron variable frequency drive
• Honeywell Burner control
• Familiarity with CO analyzer

• Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
• Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
• Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
• Work is performed in a mine or manufacturing plant which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles
