• Support and comply with the Rock Point Community School philosophy, mission, and vision statement.
• Complete four (4) hours of Prevention of Sexual Harassment training annually.
• Complete two (2) hours of SCAN procedures and reporting annually.
• Maintain confidentiality and proper storage of files according to FERPA.
• Ensure the bus is safe to operate before driving, conduct pre‑trip safety inspections as required by federal and state laws, and inspect brakes, horn, lights, emergency flashers, extended stop arms, and door opening devices.
• Return the bus to the assigned bus lot, perform a final inspection, and secure the bus according to procedures.
• Operate the school bus and transport students daily as assigned.
• Participate in random drug and alcohol testing as required.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient transportation system for all school children.
• Interact with students, parents, and faculty in a positive and proper manner.
• Maintain order and discipline of student passengers according to the RPCS student handbook.
• Assist with supervision of students in the morning.
• Transport students, teachers, and chaperones to scheduled activities such as athletic events, field trips, and class trips.
• Comply with and submit ISEP transportation mileage counts during transportation count weeks.
• Exercise responsible leadership, proper communication, and appropriate behavior at all times.
• Schedule and obtain annual physical examinations.
• Take CDL Refresher courses and Physical Performance Tests annually to maintain a valid Arizona School Bus Driver’s Certification number.
• Maintain a valid Arizona State CDL license, Class B or C with passenger and School Bus endorsements.
• Notify the proper authority in cases of mechanical failure, safety deficiencies, or other incidents at all times.
• Perform minor repairs as needed for safety.
• Keep the assigned school bus clean inside and outside.
• Transport the bus to Farmington, Shiprock, or Gallup for preventative maintenance and inspection as scheduled.
• Record daily attendance and discipline on NASIS (Native American Student Information System) and participate in all required training.
• Attend various meetings regarding safety, first aid, and training updates as required.
• Pass the Physical Performance Test and random Drug & Alcohol Tests.
• Have an annual Physical Examination.
• Understand and relate to students with special needs.
• Assist in implementing emergency planning and response.
• Establish and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, departments, outside agencies, and stakeholders, including online communication via social media.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High School diploma or equivalency.
• Must have an AZ Commercial Driver License, Class B or C, with endorsements "P" and "S" and an Arizona School Bus Driver Certificate.
• Must have updated knowledge of AZ Student Transportation regulations.
• Must have a clean driving record for five years prior to application.
• Ability to hear the conversational voice, with or without a hearing aid, is required.
• Conduct duties in accordance with the RPCS Policy and Procedures, and other reporting policies and procedures of the tribe, state, and federal government.
• Have minimal knowledge of Dine language, culture, history, traditions, and its people for compliance in all educational programs.
• Hold current CPR & 1st Aide Certification and basic safety training.
• Have Federal, Arizona, and Navajo Nation background clearance.
