The Industrial Safety Specialist is responsible for leading proactive safety programs in a manufacturing environment, applying general industry standards (OSHA/NFPA/ANSI), conducting risk assessments and investigations, aligning with ISO-based management practices, and driving continuous improvement in SQDC.
Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities
We're seeking an Industrial Safety Specialist to lead and support safety programs across our operations, driving a proactive safety culture focused on hazard identification, risk reduction, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of general industry safety standards (OSHA, NFPA, ANSI) and hands‑on experience with risk assessments, job hazard analyses, incident investigations, corrective actions, and safety training. You'll partner with operations, maintenance, and EHS leadership to conduct audits and inspections, analyze leading and lagging indicators, and support continuous improvement that enhances Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
Familiarity with ISO-based management systems is important—this role will help align safety practices with common ISO principles such as policy deployment, documented procedures, internal audits, corrective action, and continuous improvement.
- Contractor safety oversight
- Machine guarding and LOTO support
- Ergonomics and emergency preparedness
- Strong communication, influence, and problem‑solving skills, plus the ability to translate standards into clear, executable practices
- Preferred qualifications:
3-5 years in industrial safety within manufacturing or maintenance environments, experience with risk management frameworks, and relevant certifications (e.g., GSP/ASP/CSP or equivalent)
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university / college and a minimum of 3 years of experience in Industrial Safety OR a high school diploma / GED with a minimum 7 years of experience in Industrial Safety
