Research Administrator Intermediate (Hybrid)

University of Michigan-Flint School of Management seeks a full‑time Research Administrator Intermediate to support day‑to‑day research operations and projects within the College of Health Sciences (CHS). This hybrid role reports directly to the CHS Assistant to the Dean.

Job Summary

Perform professional and administrative duties in support of research projects. Key responsibilities include pre‑award and post‑award support, financial research assistance, and administrative support for CHS committees.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate submissions with UMF Office of Research and support the research application process.
  • Coordinate post‑award support with UMF Office of Research; liaise with Principal Investigators, CHS HR Administrator, and departmental staff to coordinate funding, purchases, and compliance.
  • Provide administrative support for Research Committees and CHS Committees.
  • Liaise with UM Finance Sponsored Programs Office to assist faculty with post‑award support.
  • Support sponsor and university reporting requirements; reconcile project grants monthly; maintain historical data.
  • Facilitate the close‑out process and obtain necessary documentation.
  • Facilitate completion of Data Use Agreements, gather departmental research data for CHS Annual Report, approve undergraduate research assistant biweekly timesheets, manage travel and expense reporting for CHS Associate Dean of Research, and process People Pay transactions to pay non‑employee research participants.
  • Gather department information to compile/format for CHS Annual Report; collect student data from University systems; manage CHS Calendars; answer CHS and HEART Clinic phones; process intake paperwork for HEART patients; order supplies for HEART Clinic.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Three (3) or more years of research administration and/or grant management experience and/or accounting/financial support experience.
  • One (1) year of data management experience.
  • Proofreading and editing skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite products.
  • Customer service experience.
