Seeking a Qualified and Experienced Interventional Cardiologist for Call Coverage

Are you a dedicated and highly skilled Interventional Cardiologist passionate about providing life-saving care to patients experiencing heart emergencies? We're searching for a qualified physician to join our team in a growing community near Harvey, AR. This locum tenens opportunity focuses on call coverage, offering a flexible schedule from October 25th, 2024, to December 24th, 2024.

Responsibilities:

• Provide timely and expert in-house call coverage for patients experiencing acute cardiac emergencies within our state-of-the-art cardiac catheterization lab.
• Respond promptly to STEMI (ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction) activations, collaborating with emergency department staff to ensure efficient patient transfer and care coordination.
• Perform a variety of emergency and elective interventional cardiology procedures when necessary, including percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) and stent placements (depending on your experience and privileges).
• Collaborate with a dedicated team of cardiologists, hospitalists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care during emergency situations.
• Maintain a high level of clinical knowledge and stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in interventional cardiology.

Qualifications:

• Active and unrestricted Arkansas (AR) medical license is mandatory.
• Board certification in Interventional Cardiology is mandatory.
• Minimum of two years of experience in a clinical interventional cardiology setting is preferred.
• Strong clinical judgment, decision-making skills, and a comprehensive knowledge base in interventional cardiology.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients, families, and healthcare teams in a high-pressure environment.
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment, making critical decisions under time pressure.

Schedule:

• Call Coverage: This locum tenens opportunity focuses solely on call coverage, providing flexibility for the qualified physician.
• In-House and STEMI Call: Be prepared to respond promptly to both in-house emergencies and STEMI activations.
• Response Times: Respond within 1 hour for in-house emergencies and less than 30 minutes for STEMI activations.
• Call Volume: Expect an average of 24-hour call shifts with approximately 20-25 calls. You will typically see 15-20 patients during your call shift.

• Clean Medical History: Candidates must possess a clean medical malpractice history and National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB) verification to expedite credentialing.
• Temporary Privileges: While temporary privileges are not generally available, we may be able to work with the right candidate to expedite the credentialing process.
