Overview

Allied Health Instructor (Part-Time Faculty Pool) Fresno City College. The ideal candidate will share FCC’s commitment to educating its racially and socioeconomically diverse student population. FCC serves a large student body with a Hispanic-Serving Institution designation, emphasizing equity-minded practice in the classroom.

• Providing instruction in Allied Health in a variety of instructional settings and times, including evenings and/or weekends, online or off-campus, and large group instruction as needed.
• Maintaining standards of professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the position and currency in teaching Allied Health.
• Teaching community college allied health courses such as Introduction to Health Care Careers, Medical Terminology, and Legal Issues in Health Care.
• Using a variety of pedagogies and instructional delivery systems, including technology, for face-to-face, online, and/or hybrid formats.
• Communicating effectively with students and using teaching methods aligned with approved course objectives and syllabi.
• Maintaining classroom records in accordance with District Policy and turning in all required grading and evaluation reports in a timely manner.
• Providing course syllabi and ensuring alignment with curriculum outlines of record.
• Fulfillment of duties and responsibilities as required by Administrative Regulation 7122.

• A bachelor’s degree and two years of directly related experience; OR
• An associate degree and six years of directly related experience; OR
• A valid California Community College Credential; OR
• The equivalent education and/or experience (equivalency).

Evidence of responsiveness to diverse student backgrounds and a commitment to equity-minded practice is required.

• At least one year of teaching experience in an allied health subject.
• Related work and professional experience; involvement in professional organizations and partnerships with community partners.
• Experience with computer-assisted instruction and instructional technologies.
• Strong oral and written communication and ability to work with students, faculty, staff, and administration.
• Ability to develop and update curriculum and focus on student learning outcomes; experience with diverse cultural and socioeconomic student populations.
• Understanding of equity issues in the classroom and the ability to address them; potential to contribute to institutional vitality and growth.

Starting rates are $45.49 – $61.78 for lecture, $38.67 – $52.55 for lab, and $38.30 – $52.05 for non-instructional assignments. Sick leave accrual is based on assignment hours.
