Provide instruction to Elementary students.

Essential Functions:

• Demonstrate strong knowledge of content and instructional methods.
• Engage students actively in the learning process.
• Interact with students with respect and care, promoting a positive learning environment.
• Manage classroom procedures effectively, minimizing disruptions and maximizing instructional time.
• Exhibit an understanding of child development and adapt teaching accordingly.
• Communicate with parents/guardians to discuss student progress and needs.
• Develop and implement assessments aligned with learning standards.
• Collaborate with parents, teachers, counselors, and administrators to address academic or behavioral concerns.
• Provide guidance and counseling to students with academic or personal challenges.
• Uphold school policies and rules governing student behavior.
• Maintain accurate student records in compliance with laws and district policies.
• Work with other professionals to meet individual student needs.
• Plan and schedule lessons aligned with the approved curriculum.
• Prepare required reports on students and activities for administration.
• Select and utilize appropriate instructional resources.
• Assign tasks to teacher assistants, volunteers, or substitutes as necessary.
• Attend professional development and training to enhance skills and stay updated on educational practices.
• Reflect on teaching practices and make necessary improvements.
• Participate in staff meetings and committees as required.
• Administer standardized tests and interpret results to inform instruction.
• Collaborate with colleagues to review and improve the school’s instructional programs.
• Manage classroom materials, including ordering and inventory.
• Sponsor or support extracurricular activities like clubs or academic contests.
• Perform supervisory duties such as assisting in the cafeteria, playground, or during arrival/dismissal times.
• Set rigorous, high-expectation goals for student learning.
• Understand individual student needs, including IEP and 504 plans, and provide appropriate accommodations.
• Respond effectively to student behavior.
• Provide consistent, constructive feedback to students.
• Maintain professionalism in all interactions with staff and students.
• Report any suspected child endangerment, neglect, or abuse to the proper authorities.
• Follow all district policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or their designee.

Skills & Abilities:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field required.
• Experience: No prior experience necessary, though experience in teaching is preferred.

  Proficiency with computers and related programs.
• Certifications & Licenses: Must hold a valid Arkansas teaching license for the assigned grade level/subject and meet qualifications under state and federal guidelines.
• Other Requirements: Successful completion of pre-employment background checks and appropriate personal and professional conduct around students, staff, and the public.
