Salary Range or Pay Grade: $8,798 per semester course

The Political Science Department at Fordham University periodically hires part‑time non‑tenure track (NTT) faculty to teach introductory and upper‑division courses. Based on scheduling needs as well as the qualifications and availability of the applicant, successful candidates may be offered one or two sections of Introduction to Politics and/or introductory and upper‑division subfield courses. We regularly hire part‑time faculty for fall semester (late August to late December) and spring semester (mid‑January to late May).

These positions are by semester positions. Part‑time NTT instructors at Fordham are represented by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and certain terms of employment, including minimum per course rates and details concerning benefits, are set by the Adjunct Faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement. Our department serves a diverse student body at two campuses in New York City: the Lincoln Center Campus in Manhattan and the Rose Hill Campus in the Bronx. All classes would be taught in person at one of these two campuses, based on departmental needs.

Applicants should be an advanced political science graduate student (“all but dissertation”) or ideally hold a PhD in political science. The position will require the successful candidate to teach up to, but not exceeding, two undergraduate courses per semester.
