Overview
Ozarka College, in Melbourne, Arkansas is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Director of Adult Education. The Director of Adult Education, acting under the direction of the President, will provide leadership and strategic oversight for Ozarka College’s Adult Education program, which serves multiple counties within the region. This position is responsible for the overall management, development, and implementation of adult education services, ensuring compliance with federal and state guidelines under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Title II.
The Director oversees staff, budgets, data management, partnerships, and student outcomes to advance literacy, workforce readiness, and postsecondary transitions. The Director of Adult Education is a full time grant funded position.
All duties listed below shall be performed during the academic year which includes the summer semesters.
Program Administration and Leadership- Provide leadership and direction for all adult education operations across multiple counties.
- Develop and implement strategic goals that align with Ozarka College’s mission and state performance benchmarks.
- Supervise, support, and evaluate instructional and support staff.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team environment focused on student success and continuous improvement.
- Develop, manage, and monitor annual program budgets.
- Ensure fiscal compliance with state and federal funding requirements.
- Approve purchases, manage grant expenditures, and maintain accurate financial documentation.
- Oversee collection and analysis of program data using the LACES data management system.
- Monitor student enrollment, progress, and measurable skill gains.
- Submit required state and federal reports accurately and on schedule.
- Use data to inform program improvement, instruction, and performance outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and performance standards under WIOA Title II and AEFLA.
- Coordinate program audits and maintain accurate documentation.
- Implement policies and procedures to meet or exceed state performance benchmarks.
- Represent Ozarka College Adult Education at state meetings, professional development sessions, and conferences.
- Travel regularly to program sites across the multi-county service area.
- Maintain active partnerships with local workforce agencies, community organizations, employers, and educational institutions.
- Integrate workforce readiness and career pathway activities within the curriculum.
- Collaborate with Workforce Services to support SNAP E&T (Employment and Training) initiatives.
- Promote transitions to postsecondary education, training, and employment.
- Provide ongoing training, coaching, and professional development for staff.
- Encourage innovation and evidence-based instructional practices.
- Ensure compliance with state-mandated certifications and training.
- Integrate workforce readiness and career pathway activities within the curriculum.
- Collaborate with Workforce Services to support SNAP E&T (Employment and Training) initiatives.
- Promote transitions to postsecondary education, training, and employment.
- Seek and implement activities, services and programs to ensure that Ozarka College is a vibrant contributor to the quality of life of North Central Arkansas and Ozark Mountain region.

- Master’s degree in education, administration, or related field.
- If not already licensed in adult education, must become licensed by the Arkansas Department of Education within three years of initial employment.
