Job DescriptionThe Elementary Science Teacher will deliver high-quality mathematics instruction to students in grades K-6. This role involves developing engaging lesson plans aligned with Arkansas state standards, assessing student progress, and fostering a positive learning environment that encourages critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
Key Responsibilities Curriculum and Instruction- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the Arkansas K-6 Standards.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and needs.
- Incorporate technology and real-world applications to enhance mathematical understanding.
- Assess student learning through formative and summative assessments, providing timely feedback.
- Establish and maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning and respecting all students.
- Implement effective classroom management techniques to promote student engagement and discipline.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary lessons and share best practices.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational trends and methodologies.
- Engage with parents and guardians to communicate student progress and address concerns.
- Supporting student recruitment, enrollment, and retention activities as needed.
- Write letters of recommendation for students as needed.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education Science or related field required.
Licenses: Standard Arkansas Teaching License in Elementary K-6;
or eligible for reciprocity;
or enrolled in an Alternative Licensure Program (ALP).
Experience: Prior teaching experience at the elementary level preferred.
- Must pass state and federal background checks, including fingerprinting and child maltreatment registry checks.
- Ongoing participation in professional development activities as required by ADE.
- Strong content knowledge in mathematics; proficiency in integrating technology into instruction.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience teaching in a KIPP or other high-performing charter school environment preferred.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.
Teacher salaries will be based on the experience, degree level, and licensure per the SY 2025-26 Salary Schedule.
