For the 2024‑2025 academic year, we enrolled over 45,000 students in which 68% identify as Latinx, 11% as Asian/Pacific Islander, 4% as Black/African American, 14% as White, 1% as American Indian/Alaska Native, and 2% as multiracial. Instruction responsibilities

  • Teach a full schedule of developmental and transfer level DSPS courses as assigned;
  • Identify students who can benefit from DSPS developmental services (DEVSER) pre‑vocational skills training;
  • Teach and instruct independent living, remedial math, and consumer skills training classes;
  • Evaluate functional limitations, skills and abilities of students for appropriate vocational placements;
  • Develop curriculum and individualized instruction plans;
  • Conduct program review, including the development and assessment of student learning outcomes for courses and programs, using the results to improve teaching and learning;
  • Instruct individuals in appropriate pre‑vocational skills;
  • Maintain files and complete reports;
  • Serve as liaison and resource person for college personnel;
  • Participate on campus committees;
  • Participate in career awareness and exploration activities;
  • Advise student assistants;
  • Serve on and attend department, college, and district committees as needed;
  • Participate in program review, student learning outcome development, and assessment to improve student learning;
  • Teach assignments in a variety of instructional settings and times, including evening and/or weekends, online or off‑campus, and large group instruction classes as needed; may include off‑campus instruction at local high schools for dual enrollment;
  • Fulfill all duties and responsibilities of instructors as required by Administrative Regulation 7122; and
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
