The RoleAs a Hiking Guide, you’ll lead guests through scenic trails, providing insight, encouragement, and a memorable outdoor experience. You’ll be responsible for safety, education, and fostering a sense of wonder in every step of the journey.
What we will ask of you- Lead guided hikes of varying lengths and difficulty levels.
- Share knowledge of local ecology, wildlife, and natural or cultural history.
- Ensure safety by monitoring trail conditions, weather, and group readiness.
- Manage group dynamics, offering support to hikers of all experience levels.
- Prepare and maintain hiking gear, first aid kits, and supplies.
- Promote environmental stewardship and Leave No Trace principles.
- Support team logistics including trip coordination and guest communication.
- Prior experience guiding or instructing outdoor trips preferred.
- Strong knowledge of local trails and ecosystems.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and guest engagement skills.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification required;
Wilderness First Responder preferred. - Ability to manage multiple guests with varying physical abilities.
- Flexible schedule including weekends and variable weather conditions.
- Ability to hike several miles over varied terrain while carrying gear up to 40 lbs.
- Comfort working in outdoor environments for extended periods.
