- Monitor events and alerts from SIEM, IDS/IPS tools, malware prevention platforms, system logs, and other sources
- Investigate security events and remediate or escape them
- Monitor the ticketing system for security product issues
- Analyze, respond to, and track security threats and vulnerabilities
- Use information security tools to gather investigation data
- Coordinate with business units, operations, and technology teams on incident response, remediation, and improvement
- Maintain accurate and concise case records
- Create and maintain documentation, processes, procedures, and reports
- Encourage continuous improvement and growth of Information Security
- Develop and use technical skills to expand knowledge of key Information Security controls
- High School Diploma or GED and eight (8) years of related post-secondary education and/or experience in Information Security or Information Technology
- Subject matter expertise in one or multiple areas such as Windows, UNIX, firewalls, networking, intrusion detection, threat detection/analysis, or information risk management preferred
- Experience with SIEM systems is a plus
- GIAC certification(s) is a plus
- Experience working in a Security Operations Center environment is a plus
- Ability to be a self-starter with initiative and drive for continuous improvement
- Ability to be a team-oriented individual who works well with others and places a premium on the group’s success
- Advanced understanding of information security principles, controls, and technologies
- Demonstrated strong organizational, research, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent investigative and problem-solving skills
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with malware analysis, computer forensics, cyber incident response, network intrusion detection, network traffic and packet analysis, penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, compliance, audit, or cyber threat intelligence
Demonstrates expertise in Information Security principles, controls, and technologies, with a strong focus on incident response, threat analysis, and continuous improvement. Proficient in using SIEM systems and other security tools to monitor, investigate, and remediate security events.
