The Arlington Housing Authority (AHA) is hiring a full‑time Property Manager to oversee affordable housing operations. The role requires strong organizational skills, knowledge of affordable housing programs, and excellent communication abilities.
Job SummaryFull‑time, 37.5‑hour work week. Salary range: $65,000 – $75,000 per year, commensurate with experience. Benefits include vacation, sick days, medical, dental, life, and optional long‑term disability insurance.
Responsibilities- Administer waiting lists for conventional programs and screen applicants.
- Verify income, prepare leases, and orient new residents.
- Conduct unit inspections, schedule maintenance, and ensure timely turnover of vacant units.
- Perform rent re‑certifications for all conventional housing programs.
- Schedule conferences for households with “for cause” lease violations and coordinate with legal counsel for pre‑trial eviction procedures.
- Provide social service referrals to households in crisis.
- Prepare vacancy and turnover reports as required and perform additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of three years of property management experience, preferably in affordable housing.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to learn other software programs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, customer service orientation, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work with people from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Bilingual language skills a plus.
