A laser operator is responsible for operating and maintaining laser cutting or engraving machines in various industrial settings. This role involves interpreting design specifications, setting up laser equipment, and programming it to cut or engrave materials such as metal. Laser operators monitor machine performance, troubleshoot issues, and make adjustments to ensure precision and quality. Attention to detail, knowledge of laser technology, and proficiency with CAD software are essential.

• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot a laser machine.
• Read prints, work orders, or production schedules.
• Use tools to ensure efficiency and correct operation of the machine.
• Operate laser cutting and punching machines to create metal shapes and holes that fit other parts.
• Ensure all parts meet OI quality standards using internal quality processes and SOPs.
• Assist with material breakout and movement of parts to the next production area when assigned.

• Accurately use calipers, squares, gauges, protractors, and other measuring tools.
• Strong math ability and problem‑solving skills.
• Read and interpret blueprints efficiently.
• Maintain a standing posture and lift objects up to 50 pounds.
• Demonstrate safety in the laser operation process.
