Accounting Manager(Salary Range: $95,000–$110,000 + Bonus)
Sage Search Partners is seeking an Accounting Manager for a construction client based in Arlington, TX (in-office Monday through Friday). This role partners closely with operating divisions and corporate accounting to ensure accurate reporting, strong controls, and compliance with GAAP while supporting month-end/quarter-end close and special finance projects.
In addition to holding a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, the ideal candidate will bring 2+ years of public accounting experience (Big 4 preferred), a strong grasp of GAAP, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while communicating clearly with both accountants and non-accountants; a CPA is strongly preferred (though exceptional experience may substitute), and experience in building construction, job cost/cost accounting, and JD Edwards (G/L and Job Cost) is a plus.

- Serve as the primary corporate accounting partner for assigned operating divisions, ensuring responsive support and consistent follow-through
- Lead key components of the monthly and quarterly close for supported divisions, coordinating timelines and ensuring completeness and accuracy
- Review division financial activity by analyzing general ledger detail, job cost reporting, and operational metrics, escalating issues as needed
- Advise on accounting treatment for non-routine or complex transactions and help divisions apply appropriate GAAP guidance
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and strengthen effectiveness by developing a strong understanding of how the business operates
- Provide coaching and ongoing instruction to division teams on systems usage, policies, and procedural expectations
- Support internal and external audit requests and help ensure adherence to corporate policies and documentation standards
- Travel to division locations as needed (approximately 25% or more)
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
- Advanced Excel skills required
- 2+ years of public accounting experience;
Big 4 background preferred - CPA strongly preferred
- Prior exposure to job cost or cost accounting environments preferred
- Construction/homebuilding industry experience is a plus; JD Edwards experience (G/L and Job Cost) strongly desired if available
- Ability to work onsite Monday-Friday
