Our client is seeking an experienced Cost Accountant with a strong background in manufacturing and government contracting. This role focuses on cost analysis, inventory valuation, pricing support, and audit readiness.
Responsibilities- Maintain and analyze standard costs, gross margins, and labor trends
- Support job cost estimates and contract performance reviews
- Conduct and reconcile annual physical inventory (multi-site)
- Perform cost of sales calculations, journal entries, and product line reporting
- Assist with pricing proposals and support audits
- Analyze excess/obsolete inventory and warranty reserves
- Support ad hoc cost and operations projects
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 7–10 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of standard cost systems, BOM roll‑ups, and job costing
- Experience with physical inventory valuation and reconciliation
- Familiarity with government contract compliance
- Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookup functions, modeling)
- ERP experience
