Senior Accountant (Full-Time)
Circuit of The Americas (COTA) is a 365-entertainment destination for world-class events located in Austin, TX. The sports and entertainment portfolio at COTA is unmatched in the country with Formula 1 US Grand Prix, NASCAR and MotoGP attracting global fans during championship races on the famed Circuit and Live Nation producing over 30 headline concerts every year at the Germania Insurance Amphitheater.
Opening in 2025, COTA’s amusement park is a 20-acre theme park featuring two first of their kind Roller Coasters and over three dozen rides.
This position will be responsible for maintaining general ledger entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and assisting in review of the monthly financials while ensuring compliance with policies, laws, and regulations. This is on-site, full time role.
Requirements & Essential Functions- Prepare with sales and use tax filings
- Prepare journal entries to support monthly close activities
- Complete monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
- Record entries to recognize deferred revenue and prepaid expense in the proper accounting periods
- Track fixed assets and record monthly depreciation
- Assist in month-end financial reporting procedures
- Provide year-end audit support
- Maintain ongoing dialogue with key business operations personnel particularly in revenue generating areas and purchasing
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned when needed to support the business

- Excellent written & verbal communication skills required.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- 5+ years of experience working in accounting required preferably with experience in public accounting or a multi-company environment.
- Must be technically proficient in accounting and computer systems.
- Ability to solve complex accounting reconciliations, research transaction data and determine appropriate corrective action.
- Intermediate or above level of proficiency in MS Office Suite (especially MS Excel) required.
- Net Suite experience helpful, but not required.
- Demonstrated technical knowledge and thorough understanding of GAAP.
- Ability to stand, sit, use of hands to handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms.
- Ability to lift and / or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud during events.
