Base pay range
$75,000.00/yr - $85,000.00/yr
Position TitlePosition Title: Property Accountant
SummaryThe Property Accountant will support the organization by managing full-cycle accounting responsibilities across multiple entities. This role requires strong knowledge of general financial accounting, exceptional organizational skills, and a high attention to detail. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver with excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.
Key Responsibilities(Other duties may be assigned)
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Process cash receipts and disbursements, maintain cash books, and record daily and monthly transactions, including adjusting journal entries.
- Review invoices to ensure proper general ledger coding.
- Prepare journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
- Review depreciation and amortization schedules and record related entries.
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations for asset and liability accounts.
- Prepare payroll allocations and related billbacks.
- Perform weekly and monthly bank reconciliations.
- Produce audit schedules and coordinate with external auditors during annual audits.
- Handle 1099 review, processing, and submission.
- Perform additional related duties as required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with Entrata or similar property management/accounting software is preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (equivalent education and experience will be considered)
- 3–5 years of accounting experience, ideally within a multi-entity environment, property management, or student housing
- Self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Extended periods of sitting and working at a computer
- Occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds
