The Senior Accountant will report to the Accounting Manager and will be an integral part of the SOP Accounting team. The Company has experienced and will continue to experience high growth, offering a great opportunity to further develop accounting and financial reporting skills in a fast-paced environment. SOP is looking for talented and highly motivated individuals who demonstrate a natural desire to improve and build new processes that support the meaningful work of the Orthodontic practices we support.
KeyJob Functions
- Work closely with the Accounting, Treasury, and AP teams to ensure proper accounting and reporting at each of the Company’s practices.
- Support acquisition processes, including opening balance sheet accounting and integration activities.
- Oversee revenue accounting in accordance with ASC 606, working closely with the Accounting and Business Intelligence teams on automating data validations and analytics as well as GAPP reporting enhancements.
- Oversee accounting for dental treatment costs associated with clear aligner treatments and traditional braces, including vendor spend trends and gross margin analysis.
- Responsible for monthly journal entries and reconciliation of assigned areas for newly added partners, including but not limited to opening balance sheets, accrued expenses, prepaids, fixed assets and cash / credit cards.
- Utilize accounting software and systems to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Actively develop positive and collaborative relationships across departments, assisting with financial information requests and questions.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to details, policies, and procedures
- Expert knowledge of Excel functions
- Experience with Sage Intacct and / or Power
BI is a plus - Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate with diverse personalities discreetly, maturely, and professionally.
- Ability to work with all levels of teams from Entry-level to Sr. Leadership
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Accounting or Finance
- 1-2 years of public accounting experience with a Big 4 or large regional firm preferred
- Active CPA license or working toward CPA license preferred
- Experience or exposure to M&A / Healthcare Industry is a plus
- Proven knowledge of US GAAP accounting and internal controls
