Key Responsibilities- Manage Accounts Receivable — generate invoices, track incoming payments, reconcile customer accounts, and assist with collections as needed.
- Perform regular bank and credit card reconciliations; reconcile daily cash activity and conduct monthly bank statement reconciliations.
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger; record and post journal entries (accruals, prepayments, reclasses, fixed assets, etc.) in support of monthly and quarterly close cycles.
- Support month‑end close processes — ensure all entries are posted, balance sheet accounts reconciled, and financial data reviewed for accuracy.
- Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts, including fixed assets, prepaid expenses, accruals, and other key ledger accounts.
- Support preparation of internal financial reports and, when needed, external financial statements — help ensure compliance with company policies and generally accepted accounting practices.
- Assist with audit preparation — gather supporting documentation, coordinate with external auditors, and help with audit requests.
- Assist with intercompany transactions — process and reconcile intercompany invoices, transfers, and allocations where applicable.
- Assist with annual and quarterly tax preparation by organizing financial data, maintaining supporting schedules, and coordinating with external tax preparers or CPA firms.
- Help identify and implement process improvements and internal control enhancements to streamline accounting procedures and increase efficiency.
- Participate in special projects, ad‑hoc financial analysis, and cross‑department collaboration as needed to support business operations and growth.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1–3 years (or more) of accounting experience, ideally with exposure to AP/AR, reconciliations, general ledger, journal entries, and month‑end close. Experience with intercompany transactions a plus.
- Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and standard accounting practices.
- Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems (e.g. Quick Books, Net Suite, or similar). Advanced Excel skills highly preferred (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc.).
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks with deadlines.
- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with team members across departments, as well as work independently when needed.
