Summary

The Materials Program Manager (MPM) acts as the primary Supply Chain Management (SCM) interface between the customer, the business office, and the internal operations teams (Planning, Procurement, Production). The MPM is responsible for managing all SCM-related aspects for a specific customer program or set of programs, ensuring material supply continuity
, cost management
, and alignment of Celestica’s SCM activities with the customer's contract and requirements
. This role champions supply chain improvements and maintains a strong, proactive customer relationship from an SCM perspective.

Responsibilities

Customer and Internal Interface: Serve as the liaison between the customer and internal departments (e.g., Planning, Procurement, Production, Engineering) for materials-related activities.

Requirements Management: Review and interpret the customer's contract terms and conditions related to SCM to ensure Celestica's ability to meet those requirements.

New Product Introduction (NPI) Support: Coordinate the SCM aspects of NPI, including:

  • Coordinating Bill of Material (BOM) analysis (content, lead time, critical parts).
  • Ensuring alternate source capability for supply continuity.
  • Assessing material feasibility and costs for new product requirements/changes.

Demand & Supply Alignment: Interface with Planning and the Business Office to develop, validate, and communicate production/shipment plans that align with overall business goals.

Cost Management: Manage materials bid requests and submissions, working to resolve any cost issues with the customer and the internal team.

Relationship Management: Obtain and disseminate customer SCM feedback, championing improvements and communicating action plans to the internal team.

Process Improvement: Identify business process enhancements and participate in their design and implementation across the SCM function.

Skills:

Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in Materials Management, Supply Chain, or Program Management is common for mid-level roles. More senior roles may require 8+ years of applicable experience.

Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering) or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands

Duties are primarily performed in a normal office environment
. The position frequently requires extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or detailed data.
Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse) are frequently required. Occasional travel may be required depending on customer and site needs.
