Distribution Center Manager TX (Full Time)

Hours:

8:00am to 4:30pm Monday - Friday + OT based on a business need

Shipping Supervisor (SS) is responsible for supervising the activities and priorities of both the Shipping Department personnel and interactions between the Shipping departments and other departments as required. Responsibilities also include ensuring conformance to quality and packaging standards, safety rules, policies and procedures, routine deployment of preventative maintenance measures (e.g. forklifts), housekeeping, employee training and retention, and hands-on supervision. The DCM or DCS is also responsible for supporting and promoting changes deemed necessary to company operations and employee relations.

The DCM or DCS reports directly to the Director of Manufacturing..

1- 2 to 5 years of Warehouse/Shipping experience

- Analytical thinking abilities and excellent math skills

- Microsoft suite experience including Excel and Word.

4- M2M experience preferred

1. Provide employee training to ensure employee is compliant to company processes, procedures, and work instructions as related to job.

2. Identify and execute cross-training opportunities for employees within and between departments.

3. Assign work to employees based on priorities from shipment schedule.

4. Routinely check quality of work generated from employees to ensure quality/packaging standards are being met, quantities shipped are accurate, shipping documentation is complete and accurate and take corrective active as required.

5. Ensure professionalism and appropriate level of coordination is conducted between Shipping, Sales and carriers to ensure smooth transfer of products to customer destinations.

6. Facilitate routine inspection/maintenance of shipping equipment, diagnose problems, and remedy situation through proper resource allocation to ensure minimal downtime.

7. Review and deploy existing policies, processes, procedures and work instructions and ensure all employees comply. This includes issues related to:
Safety, HR, shipping, quality, housekeeping, etc...

8. Initiate and submit incident reports as required.

9. Monitor individual employee performance and document positive and negative performance, attendance issues, or a behavior that positively or negatively affects the employee's or other employees job performance. Be present and actively supervising on the factory floor 80+% of the day.

10. Interface with Sales, Production, Planning, Traffic, HR, and/or Management as required.

11. Maintain positive relations with carriers/truckers, but enforce company policies as required (e.g. safety glasses worn, proper equipment, proper loading and tie down, etc...).

12. Maintain positive relations with employees by communicating company issues with employees routinely to ensure employees are informed of essential news regarding company, policy, process, or procedural changes that will affect them personally.

13. Manage all incoming and outgoing inventory in M2M.This includes receiving items into M2M, preparing shipping paperwork, and confirming orders as they are shipped.

14. Responsible for scheduling pickup of all products by approved carriers.

15. Responsible for ensuring all incoming and outgoing product meets HRW's quality standards and reports any issues to Director of manufacturing.

Perform other similar duties as responsibilities necessitate or as assigned by supervisor/management.
