Assistant Construction Project Manager (Industrial Construction)
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Construction Project Manager to support industrial construction projects in the Dallas area. This hands‑on role is ideal for a construction professional with prior experience as an Assistant Project Manager who is ready to grow into a larger leadership position. The Assistant Project Manager will collaborate closely with the Project Manager to ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and overseeing construction projects from pre‑construction through closeout
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of materials, services, and milestones
- Support project scheduling, cost tracking, budget management, and resource allocation to keep projects on track and within budget
- Monitor on‑site construction progress, identify potential delays or issues, and communicate updates to the Project Manager and leadership team
- Participate in pre‑construction planning meetings, design reviews, and site inspections to support proactive decision‑making
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, daily logs, and progress reports
- Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory standards, promoting a culture of accountability and safe practices on‑site
- Assist in identifying potential project risks and propose effective solutions to prevent schedule delays, cost overruns, or quality issues
- Support the Project Manager in communications with clients, architects, and engineers, providing updates and assisting in resolving field issues
- Contribute to process improvements and best practices to enhance efficiency, communication, and overall project outcomes
- 2+ years of experience as an Assistant Project Manager on construction projects
- Strong understanding of construction processes, methods, building codes, and safety regulations
- Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore, Plan Grid, MS Project, or similar platforms
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills; capable of working independently and collaboratively
- Detail‑oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast‑paced environment
