Admissions Operations Specialist

Job Summary: The Admissions Operations Specialist serves on the Admissions Operations team as the lead student‑facing resource. The role provides guidance for students and their families on admissions, financial aid, scholarships, and residency processes for the Office of Admissions. The position is cross‑trained to assist students at all levels of admission – undergraduate and graduate, both domestic and international.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance and support regarding UTA’s academic programs and degree opportunities throughout the admissions cycle, explaining admission processes, requirements, and application procedures.
  • Provide general information and refer inquiries to other student support offices as needed.
  • Advise applicants on admission criteria for undergraduate and graduate programs.
  • Counsel students on financial aid, housing arrangements, transfer credit, and collaborate with other departments on campus.
  • Review application support documents (e.g., transcripts) to clarify next steps for prospective students throughout the prospect‑to‑enrollment life cycle.
  • Manage day‑to‑day customer service escalations occurring in person, via phone or email, and liaise with other departments when necessary.
  • Follow up with prospective or admitted students on escalation cases.
  • Assist in managing admissions staff questions by providing answers to complex inquiries via email, phone, or face‑to‑face interactions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent mix of education and relevant experience in a similar role.
  • At least 2 years of experience in operations, higher education admissions, or related work.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree.
  • At least 3 years of equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with Slate CRM.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Work Schedule

Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm. Occasionally may require extended office hours until 6 pm and/or a few Saturdays a year for special events.
