The annual salary for this position ranges from $37,600 to $43,000. The final offer will be commensurate with the candidate’s relevant experience and qualifications.

Purpose of Position

Under the direction of the Program Director of Health Professions, the Pre-Health Student Success Coordinator serves as a dedicated coach and mentor who supports undergraduate pre-health professional students in their preparation for health professional graduate schools. This position fosters student success through holistic, developmental approaches, coordination of developmental and engagement programming, and assists with overseeing pre-health student organizations. Guided by a commitment to student success, this role is centered on guiding the development of innovative and empathetic healthcare leaders through student-centered practices leading to personal and career success.

Functions
  • Pre-Health Career & Success

    Coaching:

  • Conduct supplemental academic and career coaching, mock interviews, and health professional graduate school preparation services for prospective, current, and alumni pre-health students (pre-med, pre-dental, pre-pharmacy, pre-PA, etc.) utilizing multiple modalities.
  • Provide individualized guidance on preparation for competitiveness such as health professional required and recommended courses, academic and experience expectations, and assist with planning to achieve educational and career goals.
  • Holistically guide students in making informed academic and experiential decisions aligned with national health professional admissions committees, application services, and graduate programs.
  • Monitor the academic and experiential progress of pre-health students. This includes documenting interactions, proactive outreach of opportunities and resources, and long-term student engagement support.
  • Maintain up-to-date pre-health resources including current health professional school requirements, healthcare-related current events, and relevant sources of reliable information.
  • Program Coordination & Student Engagement:
  • Oversee pre-health student organizations. Promote collaborative events and engagement.
  • Coordinate pre-health related events and workshops.
  • Assist Program Director of Health Professions with implementing special programs and events, overseeing the Health Professions Leadership Board, and the Health Professions Advisory Committee (HPAC).
  • Assist in marketing and recruitment events targeted for prospective and current pre-health students.
  • Build partnerships and collaborate with various institutional departments and the external community members to provide beneficial opportunities for pre-health students.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or (4) years of an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two or more years of experience working with college students or adolescents in an advising or similar capacity.

  • Capable of professional, collaborative, and independent work.

  • Demonstrated experience and/or willingness to work collaboratively with students and/or co-workers from a wide range of abilities, backgrounds, and experiences.
Work Schedule
  • Monday through Friday; 8:00am through 5:00pm
  • 10% Travel
  • Hybrid work environment (remote & office)
