Power your future with Qualus in our Field Engineering department as a Field Engineering Project Lead! We are looking for a highly skilled and hands-on professional to lead complex electrical utility projects, managing the day-to-day execution focusing on transmission, distribution equipment, and relay protection upgrades. Your technical expertise and extensive experience in project leadership and field operations will be crucial for successful project completion.

This role involves being the primary client interface from initial assessments and proposals to communication and compliance management.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee electrical utility projects, including planning outages and managing equipment upgrades.
  • Act as the primary client contact, handling inquiries, site assessments, and proposals.
  • Review protection and control drawings, identify issues, and address technical questions.
  • Coordinate materials, crews, and oversee P&C and construction activities, especially on high-profile jobs with risks.
  • Ensure project success through meticulous planning, stakeholder communication, and bid organization.
  • Drive project execution by maintaining schedules, coordinating resources, and supporting onsite activities.
  • Participate in client and production meetings to ensure alignment and address ongoing needs.
  • Build and maintain productive customer relationships, serving as a client advocate.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred) or related technical degree.
  • 5+ years’ experience in relay testing, commissioning, or protection scheme design.
  • EIT or PE certification is preferred.
  • Proficiency in reading electrical diagrams and using test equipment software.
  • Strong work ethic, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently.
  • Good communication skills and a valid driver’s license.
