We are currently looking to recruit a Sr. Instrumentation Engineer for one of our clients based in Dallas, Texas. Our client is a global leader in industrial materials whose products are essential to the low‑carbon technologies powering the modern economy. From electric vehicles to wind turbines, their materials play a vital role in building a more sustainable future. This role is ideal for an experienced instrumentation SME who enjoys hands‑on engineering, complex technical challenges, and shaping standards for a large‑scale, multi‑discipline project.
Responsibilities- Leading instrumentation engineering from conceptual design through commissioning and ongoing optimization.
- Developing and reviewing instrumentation specifications, datasheets, requisitions, and technical bid evaluations.
- Conducting design reviews of vendor and contractor deliverables, resolving issues during key project phases.
- Collaborating closely within the EHS, Process, Mechanical, Electrical, and Controls Engineering teams to ensure successful system integration.
- Overseeing the sourcing, evaluation, and implementation of instrumentation packages with supply chain partners.
- Mentoring junior engineers and supporting technical development and design reviews.
- Promoting continuous improvement and technical excellence across the project.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- 7+ years of experience in industrial instrumentation design, specification, configuration, and validation.
- Strong proficiency with P&IDs, loop drawings, I/O lists, and instrumentation documentation.
- 3+ years developing or influencing instrumentation standards and best practices.
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus TCP, etc.).
- Strong understanding of hazardous area classifications (explosion‑proof, intrinsically safe, etc.).
- Familiarity with 3D model review, conduit/tray routing, and installation detail development.
- PE license is highly preferred.
