Network Engineer – III
Location:

Work Schedule:
Must be able to work any shift in a 24x7 rotational schedule
We are seeking an experienced Network Grooming / Provisioning Engineer to support network migration and central office decommissioning efforts. This role is fully remote and focuses primarily on Layer 1 technologies (TDM / SONET), with additional exposure to other network technologies as required.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare, test, groom, and provision customer network services to support traffic migration and cutover activities
- Execute network turn‑downs, activations, implementations, and maintenance activities
- Collaborate closely with onsite technicians at central offices and client locations
- Verify network pathways and ensure accurate traffic migration
- Coordinate with internal teams to provide guidance and technical support
- Provide status updates, escalations, and scheduling coordination with assigned program leaders
- 8+ years of experience in telecom network provisioning and grooming
- Strong hands‑on experience with network turn‑downs, traffic migrations, activations, implementations, and maintenance
- Extensive knowledge of Layer 1 technologies, including TDM – Copper (DS0, DS1, DS3, switched voice trunks, PRI)
- Experience working with Ciena (4200, 6500 series) and DXCs (Telabs, Alcatel, Titans)
- Prior experience with systems such as BGW, TCOMS, Maintenance Tracker, or similar tools
- Strong understanding of central office environments
- Flexibility to work morning, mid, or night shifts as part of a 24x7 rotation
- Experience with higher‑capacity technologies such as Gig‑E, 10G, 100G, 400G
