Position Overview
We are supporting a leading aerospace and critical systems organization involved in next-generation aviation and airspace modernization programs across the United States. These initiatives include advanced air traffic management, unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), and emerging air mobility solutions that are redefining how national airspace operates.
As a Systems Engineer – Aerospace
, you will contribute to the development of complex, safety-critical systems used in regulated aviation environments. You will support the full systems engineering lifecycle, from requirements analysis through integration, verification, validation, and qualification (IVVQ), while working within established engineering governance frameworks.
This role is ideal for a structured systems thinker with a passion for aviation, safety, and large-scale technical programs.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze and translate operational and customer needs into clear, traceable system requirements and specifications
- Contribute to mission, functional, and architectural analyses in collaboration with system architects and product authorities
- Develop and maintain system documentation including specifications, engineering plans, and lifecycle artifacts
- Support system integration activities and evaluate system behavior, interfaces, and performance
- Prepare and contribute to integration, verification, and validation (IVV) test plans, execution, and reporting
- Participate in change impact analysis, configuration management, and documentation updates
- Support formal design reviews and contribute to technical deliverables and R&D documentation
- Ensure solutions meet safety, security, regulatory, and quality standards
- Develop and maintain SOPs to support consistent and repeatable engineering practices
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
- Experience in systems engineering, IT infrastructure, networked systems, cybersecurity, or related technical domains
- Solid understanding of Windows and Linux environments
- Familiarity with data analysis and scripting tools (e.g., Python) for engineering analysis or validation
- Experience working on complex, multi-stakeholder technical programs
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and quality-driven
- Disciplined, analytical, and methodical problem‑solver
- Exposure to aviation systems, air traffic management (ATM), or national airspace operations
- Experience supporting US Federal Government programs (FAA, DoD, DHS strongly preferred)
- Background in aerospace, aviation, defense, transportation, UAS, or mission‑critical IT systems
- Experience with ground‑based sensor or radar system integration
- Hands‑on exposure to network and IT equipment (routers, switches, gateways, etc.)
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure)
- Knowledge of IT Service Management concepts (e.g., ITIL)
- Experience working in Agile or hybrid development environments
- Relevant IT, cybersecurity, or cloud certifications (nice to have)
