Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineer
We are currently looking to recruit an Electrical Engineer for one of our clients based in Dallas, Texas. Our client is a U.S. industrial manufacturer operating at the forefront of the clean energy and advanced materials sector, developing a new greenfield high‑tech manufacturing facility to support the growing demand for electrification and domestic supply chain resilience.
The ideal candidate will hold a B.S. in Electrical Engineering (P.E. preferred) and bring 3+ years of experience in electrical design in an industrial, chemical, or manufacturing environment. They should also have a strong foundation in medium‑voltage systems, motor controls, grounding, and protective coordination.
Responsibilities- Leading the design and development of both low and medium voltage electrical systems for new facility construction, process expansions, and equipment upgrades—from concept through commissioning and operation.
- Single‑line diagrams and schematics
- Load and power distribution layouts
- Grounding and lightning protection systems
- Cable and conduit routing plans
- Panel schedules and PLC/control panel layouts
- Network diagrams and P&IDs
- Reviewing and approving vendor and contractor submittals, ensuring compliance with specifications, safety requirements, and electrical codes (NEC, IEEE, IEC, OSHA, and NRTL guidelines)
- Assist with power system studies including load calculations, short‑circuit analysis, arc flash assessments, and protective device coordination (e.g., SKM Power Tools)
- Provide field engineering support during construction and commissioning, including RFI resolution and as‑built verification
- Ensure all electrical work meets expectations for safety, reliability, quality, and sustainability
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field
- 3+ years’ experience in electrical design/reviewing control panels, distribution panels, and motor control systems in industrial, chemical, or manufacturing environments
- Previous experience with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical, transformers, switchgears, MCCs, VFDs, UPS systems, and backup generators
- Working knowledge of NEC, IEEE, IEC, OSHA, NRTL, and UL standards
- Ability to interpret P&IDs, equipment specifications, and process flow diagrams
