Mechanical Inspector – Flux Resources (Contract, Arlington, TX)

Contract opportunity paying $48 per hour.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection, for compliance with contract requirements and industry standards.
  • Review contractor shop drawings and submittals to confirm alignment with project specifications.
  • Monitor the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems, confirming proper functionality and performance.
  • Identify and report non-conformances, coordinating with contractors and engineers to implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct labor interviews to verify proper worker classification and wage compliance.
  • Immediately notify contractors and relevant officials of any potentially life‑threatening safety conditions.
  • Maintain detailed inspection reports, logs, and records for quality control and compliance tracking.
  • Oversee corrective actions for unacceptable construction work and support final inspections, punch lists, and project closeouts.
  • Witness and document critical tests, such as pressure tests, leak tests, and system start‑ups.
  • Verify the quality of materials, workmanship, and equipment installations to confirm adherence to project specifications.
Minimum Requirements
  • BA/BS in Construction, Architecture, Mechanical Engineering or a related field plus 2 years of related experience (or equivalent education/experience).
  • 2 years of experience in construction inspection.
Preferred Requirements
  • Experience working on federally managed construction projects.
  • Experience in reviewing contractor shop drawings and submittals.
  • Experience working in and around historic properties.
  • OSHA 10‑hour training certification.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
  • Experience working with federal Project Management Systems.
