SCADA Field Engineer

Duration: FULL TIME

• Configure, program, troubleshoot, and support RTUs/SCADA systems at power generation sites.
• Integrate plant DCS signals with corporate EMS/SCADA and perform end-to-end point validation.
• Troubleshoot Modbus (Serial/TCP), DNP3, serial, fiber, media converters, and communication gateways
  .
• Perform hands‑on field testing, commissioning, outage support, and telemetry troubleshooting
  .
• Work directly with plant operations and engineering teams
  , vendors, and corporate IT/network teams.
• Coordinate site visits independently and provide occasional short‑notice field support
  .
• Maintain documentation, point lists, as‑builts, and basic change control.

• Hands‑on RTU configuration/programming experience (SEL, Orion, Telvent/Schneider, or similar).
• Strong experience with Modbus and DNP3 protocols.
• Power plant or heavy industrial field experience
  .
• Experience with SCADA/DCS/EMS integration and telemetry.
• Knowledge of IP networking, communication hardware, and field diagnostic tools
  .
• Ability to read P&.
• Familiarity with LOTO, plant safety, and operating procedures
  .
• Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with plant personnel
  .
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regionally.

• Hitachi Network Manager EMS experience.
• Fiber, serial‑to‑IP gateways, and media converter troubleshooting.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Visio, block diagrams, point lists, or HMI updates
  .
• Houston-based;
  remote most days
  .
• Routine travel within approximately 2 hours of Houston
  .
• Periodic travel to other regions, including PJM / ISO-NE / NY
  .
• Must be comfortable working hands‑on in operational power plants without disrupting plant operations.
