Tax Manager

Overview

Milbern Ray & Company, a respected, family-owned CPA firm located in Southlake, has proudly served clients across North Texas for over 50 years. We specialize in handling complex tax matters and providing high-level financial reporting—and we’re looking for a full-time Tax Manager to join our dedicated and growing team.

• Independently prepare and review federal, state, and income tax returns for a diverse range of clients.
• Ensure accurate, timely filing of tax returns and other required business filings.
• Apply your deep knowledge of tax law and compliance to develop strategic tax planning solutions.
• Communicate tax strategies clearly and effectively to clients, helping them make informed decisions.
• Provide guidance on GAAP and ensure financial documentation aligns with applicable standards.
• Manage, mentor, and support members of the tax team to foster professional growth and engagement.
• Respond to client inquiries and troubleshoot complex tax issues with professionalism and insight.
• Collaborate in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment that values quality, integrity, and client service.

• 6+ years of tax experience in public accounting.
• A confident leader with strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Expertise in federal and state tax codes, with a proactive and solution-oriented approach.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Experience with Partnerships, individuals, corporations and trusts is an asset.
• Prior experience working with private companies.
• Familiarity with CCH Pro System fx Tax and CCH Engagement is a plus, but not required.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or related field (preferred).
• Active CPA certification required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Availability to work overtime from January 15 to April 15, with straight overtime pay for all additional hours.
