Work hours:
Full-time (40 hour), Day Shift.

- An inpatient, hospital pharmacy which performs non-sterile and sterile compounding, including chemotherapy, and participates in the 340B drug pricing program.
Education
- High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
Experience
- 2 Years Hospital Pharmacy Technician Required
- 1 Year Supply Chain Management Preferred
Licenses and Certifications
- RPhT – Registered Pharmacy Technician Upon Hire Required
- Under the supervision of pharmacy management participates in all activities of the pharmacy department that involve the inventory management of drugs.
- Leads in the timely and accurate purchasing, inventory management, storage, contract compliance and (when appropriate) the use of technology to do so. Assures compliance with Drug Supply Chain Security Act.
- Coordination with department and system resources to manage drug shortages, back orders, processing returns for recalls and other supply chain interruptions. This includes timely communication of drug shortages within the scope of a technician role, while obtaining clinical guidance from Pharmacists for alternatives.
- Liaison between the department and select vendors as empowered by pharmacy leadership.
- Serve as primary resource in inventory management, including regulatory compliance, communication and customer service. Maintains appropriate and accurate inventory of medications and supplies and ensures compliance with THR policies and procedures.
- Timely and accurate preparation, delivery & storage of medications, including (when appropriate) the use of technology to do so.
- Ensuring accuracy of one’s own work as well as the maintenance of required competencies, and other documentation. Must reflect consistently departmental quality improvement and patient safety standards, programs and initiatives.
- Ongoing professional development and growth, leads by example, perpetuates accountability, manages own time.
- Communicate effectively, develop positive working relationships and role model teamwork that reflects the Texas Health Promise Behaviors. Trains employees on routine buyer tasks.
- Manages own time and shares the responsibility for minimizing pharmaceutical costs (including wastage) and discovering new process efficiencies. Coordination, maintenance, and presentation of interdepartmental billing and borrow/loan information.
